Peer Career Mentoring Program
Meet our Mentors
The OPIT Peer Career Mentoring Program offers a supportive space for students and alumni to connect with more experienced peers for career advice and inspiration. We leverage the rich experience of the OPIT community to drive personal and professional growth through dialogue and knowledge-sharing.
"I’ve spent the last fifteen years among trains, airplanes, telecom and design, contributing to marketing, revops, comms and PR. Somewhere along the way, I also collected a philosophy degree (phil of maths), a marketing one (SaaS start-up-focused) and an executive master’s in general management. As Terence McKenna put it, our machines are now “the major evolutionary forces acting upon us”. My commitment is to help you steer that force with your limitless imagination: as an extension of human potential rather than a replacement for it."
"With over 15 years in software development, I want to share practical experience and help students understand how what we study is applied in real jobs."
"Many students feel lost; I want to offer guidance, support, and a listening ear, helping them find direction and confidence in their fast-evolving field."
"My motivation is to help where needed and, most importantly, to give confidence. With confidence and self-assurance, anything can be achieved."
"I would like to share my motivation and experience about AI and data with aspiring professionals."
"I experienced fast growth within a year by leveraging hard and soft skills. Starting in manufacturing, evolving through automotive and soon approaching localization services powered with AI. I leveraged my previous engineering skills with those acquired in data science and AI at OPIT. As an ENFJ personality type, I’m passionate about supporting younger peers as they prepare to enter the workforce or advance their careers.
I would share my experience to help the next generation of students grow. For me, it will be an opportunity to give back what I have received."
"I am motivated to become a mentor because I want to share the encouragement and guidance that helped me in my own journey. Mentoring is a way to support others. I see it as an opportunity to give back and create meaningful connections."
"I strongly believe in the value of sharing knowledge and supporting others in their academic and professional journeys. During my time at OPIT, I have benefitted greatly from the guidance of professors and peers, and I would like to give back by helping other students navigate their own paths. "
"My motivation for joining this program is to connect with new people and share the knowledge I’ve gained over the past 10 years of my professional life."
"I am motivated to become a Mentor because I genuinely enjoy helping others grow and navigate their career paths with confidence. Mentoring gives me the opportunity to share practical insights, guide others in developing essential analytical and professional skills, and help them avoid common mistakes I encountered early on."
"Mentoring allows me to share the technical expertise and practical insights I have developed over many years. I have always been passionate about sharing knowledge, as it not only supports others but also deepens my own understanding of the subject. "
"I have been lucky to have great mentors at work, people who’ve guided me, challenged me, and helped me grow in ways I didn’t even expect. They’ve made a huge difference in how I think, make decisions, and approach challenges. Having that kind of support has shown me how powerful mentorship really is, and I want to do the same for others. I want to be someone who helps others find direction, build confidence, and grow both personally and professionally."
